Includes new UI personalization options and many stability improvements.

What’s new

The Advanced tab makes a comeback. You can find it the TripMode settings, allowing you to customize the look and feel and make TripMode more accessible.

The new Advanced tab in TripMode 3.1.2

The advanced tab includes:

  • A transparent / opaque toggle for the main TripMode window, which can help make the content more readable.

If you like detaching the TripMode window and move it around your screen, this is for you. We had requests asking for more flexibility, and therefore added a few toggles :

  • whether the TripMode window should stay on top of other windows or not
  • whether clicking on the menu bar icon should re-attach the TripMode window to the top menu
  • whether the TripMode window should be reattached to the menu bar when closed, so you always know where to find it

Stability improvements

Since TripMode 3.1 came out, we also made a round of stability fixes that cover the following cases:

  • A potential issue when purchasing TripMode or starting a trial, where an empty screen would be shown (Mac App Store version).
  • A potential crash when trying to access the action menu.
  • A potential crash on macOS Big Sur when filtering is turned on.
  • Many minor UI and stability improvements.

If you like TripMode and the new updates that we’re introducing, please take a minute and leave us a review on the Mac App Store. If you need help or have improvement suggestions, reach out to our Customer Service team.

How to get the update?

  • If you downloaded TripMode from our website, you should get prompted to get the update shortly. To check manually, simply go to the About screen and check for updates.
  • If you have Setapp, the update should be pushed to you automatically.
  • The Mac App Store version should be updated automatically as well. If you have automatic updates turned off, simply go to the Mac App Store and check the Updates section.

Important note: Make sure to update macOS to the latest version to ensure that TripMode filters all traffic. Apple fixed a major bug that was present in macOS versions older than 11.2, where the traffic of many Apple apps was hidden from apps like TripMode.
