TripMode 3.0.6 Release Notes
The new version allows you to find specific apps quicker via its new search box. We’re also adding a one-time purchase option and a limited 100% free version on the Mac App Store.
Finding apps the easy way
If you’ve been running TripMode non-stop for a little while, then this feature is for you. The main screen usually quickly gets filled with a lot of apps.
You can already sort the apps (from the menu>Sort apps by), but now we also allow you to quickly find specific apps in a second. For example, if you want to block an app that you’ve allowed in the past, now you can simply open up TripMode, hit CMD+F on your keyboard and start typing. The list of apps will update itself dynamically, allowing you to block it or inspect it.
Other updates
We’ve updated the menu bar icon, which will not be greyed out anymore in Live Monitoring and Report modes. Our intent is to make your menu bar look cleaner, as the icon style should be consistent with most other menu bar icons.
Mac App Store : more plans!
We’ve listened to the feedback from TripMode’s Mac App Store users. As a result, we’re introducing a new, single purchase Lifetime in-app purchase, which will allow you to get unlimited TripMode updates, major and minor, forever. Interested? At the same time, we’re trying out a new 100% free version of TripMode. That version is limited to the Live Monitor. We hope that it provides an even better idea of what the app can deliver, before committing to a trial, subscription, or purchase.
Why do we say trying out? Because we’d like to find out if these new options work out for TripMode users, and for us. They need to represent a sustainable income to cover the development and maintenance costs.

How do I get the update?
- If you downloaded TripMode from our website: you should get prompted to get the update shortly. To check manually, simply go to the About screen and check for updates.
- If you have Setapp, the update should be pushed to you soon automatically.
- The Mac App Store version should be updated automatically. If you have automatic updates turned off, simply go to the Mac App Store and check the Updates section.
Important note: Make sure to update macOS to the latest version to ensure that TripMode filters all traffic. Apple fixed a major bug that was present in macOS versions older than 11.2, where the traffic of many Apple apps was hidden from apps like TripMode.
