This time around, we focused on many under the hood improvements.

Here’s what’s new:

AppleScript enhancements

If you are an advanced user and like automation, you’ll like this. We enhanced TripMode’s AppleScript support and fixed a few bugs. AppleScript allows you to set the filter state and get a variety of information from TripMode right from your own scripts.

TripMode’s possibilities with Apple Script

Fixed a rare issues where TripMode asked to reinstall its network extension after a reboot.

If you are still affected by this problem after updating to 3.0.11, please let us know.

Many reliability, UI, and performance enhancements

For example, it is now again possible to select individual apps in the custom profiles settings, as checkboxes were not always showing up before. We also included a few fixes that improves the reliability on the latest macOS Monterey betas, and on older Big Sur releases.

Manually created user profiles in TripMode’s settings

If you like TripMode and the new updates that we’re introducing, please take a minute and leave us a review on the Mac App Store. If you need help or have improvement suggestions, reach out to our Customer Service team.

How do I get the update?

  • If you downloaded TripMode from our website, you should get prompted to get the update shortly. To check manually, simply go to the About screen and check for updates.
  • If you have Setapp, the update should be pushed to you soon, automatically.
  • The Mac App Store version should be updated automatically. If you have automatic updates turned off, simply go to the Mac App Store and check the Updates section.

Important note: Make sure to update macOS to the latest version to ensure that TripMode filters all traffic. Apple fixed a major bug that was present in macOS versions older than 11.2, where the traffic of many Apple apps was hidden from apps like TripMode.
