An update which includes a new private mode and added UI + performance enhancements.

What’s new?

  • 🕶️ Private mode: the private browsing equivalent: Switch it on from the menu to prevent the domains history from being recorded, i.e. in the app inspector. For example, turn it on before visiting AOL.com, and AOL.com will not be recorded nor visible in Safari’s app inspector (phew!). This feature is particularly useful when using a shared computer. You can also view and edit your domains history at any times in the Settings.
  • ↕️ Improved bandwidth UI: We refreshed the appearance of the bandwidth indicator to take less space. Thank you Tomas K. for the suggestion!
  • ⚡️ Ventura enhancements: We added networking and performance optimizations for macOS Ventura.
  • 🧑‍💻 Refreshed helpbook: Added up-to-date screenshots and copy in the helpbook.

How to get the update?

  • If you downloaded TripMode from our website, you should get prompted to get the update. To check manually, simply go to the About screen and check for updates.
  • If you have Setapp, the update should be pushed to you automatically.
  • The Mac App Store version should be updated automatically as well. If you have automatic updates turned off, simply go to the Mac App Store and check the Updates section.

New to TripMode? Simply download the 7-day free trial from our website or the Mac App Store, and give it a spin.

Important note: Make sure to update macOS to the latest version to ensure that TripMode filters all traffic. Apple fixed a major bug that was present in macOS versions older than 11.2, where the traffic of many Apple apps was hidden from apps like TripMode.
